Pivot Search was founded in Singapore with a single thesis: that the AI talent market in Asia-Pacific was maturing faster than the search firms serving it. Generalist agencies were treating AI as one vertical among many. We believed it deserved — and would increasingly demand — dedicated expertise.
We set up as an entirely female-led firm and have stayed that way. Every consultant on the team runs searches in both English and Mandarin, which means we access candidate pools that monolingual firms simply can't reach. Eight people. One office. Every search run in-house from brief to close.
We work with a small number of clients at any one time, by design. That constraint means every mandate gets genuine attention — not a database blast and a hope. We want to be the firm you call first — and the firm you come back to.
Our 100% retention rate on placed candidates is not a marketing claim — it's the number that holds us to account. We're not done when the contract is signed. Post-placement check-ins at 30, 60, and 90 days are part of our standard process.
We can hold a credible conversation about transformer architectures, RLHF, and inference optimization — not because we've read a glossary, but because we've spent years placing the people who build these systems. That depth changes what's possible in a search.
